The sun was shining as we docked in Bergen and how beautiful it felt! With evergreen mountains in the distance, I couldn’t wait to take the short walk into the centre.
My first glimpse of Bergen was of the harbour on the left; filled with privately owned boats and yachts. To the right was a row of standard tourist shops with many narrow streets in between them. Intrigued, I strolled up one of the narrow streets only to find authentic, Nordic shops encased in wooden decor. (The kind you’d associate with a Christmas Market back at home). It immediately made me think of Christmas and that cosy feeling – I’d love to visit in the Winter!
As I walked back down, there stood a very prestigious building. It resembled a church, however it was a Starbucks! Holy coffee!
A few metres in was an outside fresh fish market. Live crabs, live lobsters, prawns, shrimps, oysters… you name it, it was there! It’s a shame I don’t eat fish! But I imagine it would have been a dream to a pescatarian.
Even further into Bergen was a beautiful park with perfectly potted flowers surrounding it. Picture postcard standard- no filter needed!
After a full morning of strolling around, it was time to head to work for the afternoon shift.
Two words; beautiful Bergen.
Below are my pictures. Enjoy!
