11pm every other day (or there abouts!) only meant one thing…Salsa!
Iāve danced from the age of around 5 years old and it is something Iām highly passionate about. I love all aspects of dancing: watching dance, learning new styles and performing. Whenever a song is played and it hits me inside (not literally!), Iāll move to it! Ballet has always been a favourite style of mine, but – thanks to my sister – I developed a new interest in Salsa dancing.
Pinned on the noice board of the Bermer Road was a poster. The caption ‘Salsa Classesā was striking, along with flames and a mannequin dancer. I was there! Passion! Oh la la!
The classes were everything Iād expected: great music, a highly-skilled teacher and lovely people. As Iāve said before, the people you meet really do make ship life what it is and I was lucky enough to meet people from all departments. (Picture attached below š) From bar staff to chefs and tour workers to doctors, we all shared a passion for dancing! There was no better feeling than dancing off a busy day, (twirling, sweating and laughing) and having fun doing so!
The salsa classes really made my voyage and I very much miss not being able to dance off a stressful day in the classroom!
For now…
1,2,3…5,6,7! šš¼
