Turnaround day 🛳

Ahh joining ship day, or more formally known as turnaround day. Three words: hectic, exhausting and chaotic. I dread this day. It consumes every bit of energy you’ve built up for the ship adventure.

Here’s just a ‘short’ list of what to expect on turnaround day: completing paperwork, a meet and greet, rota reading, a tour of the ship, lugging your cases down flights of stairs and not to mention training! It’s a killer of a day finished off nicely with a shift at the end. I’m feeling fatigued writing and thinking about it.

Anyway, I’ve finally found my cabin, after searching forwards and backwards through the intertwining corridors. That initial moment when you get a first glimpse of what your cabin is like. Thankfully this time the cabin is clean and comfortable, even if we do have to do a little shimmy to manoeuvre around! I’ve brought mementoes from home this time and decorated my living space. You really make it what it is!

For now, uniform on and off to work!
